Turquoise natural stone - oval cabochon - 8 x10 mm
Turquoise is a mineral formed from hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, characterized by its bright blue-green colors.
Turquoise is most often opaque, with a solid blue color, but can also come in "matrix" form, where it will contain veins and inclusions of the original rock in which the turquoise was formed.
Turquoise is usually stabilized to improve the stones hardness and ability to be cut without damage. These turquoises have been stabilized with a wax/plastic to improve the durability and appearance of the stone.
Turquoise has generally been known as the stone of purification and is excellent for cleansing and protection.
This turquoise oval cabochon measures 8mm x 10mm.
Turquoise has a hardness of 5-6 on the Mohs scale
Please note that due to the nature of the stone, each cabochon is unique, so patterns will vary and natural inclusions are sometimes visible.
Care: As with all gemstones care must be taken, placing turquoise stones in an ultrasonic or steam cleaning solution is not recommended. Turquoise can be easily cleaned with a mixture of warm soapy water or an untreated cloth.
It is recommended to avoid exposure of turquoise to prolonged periods of heat and light.
