Buttons are one of the oldest accessories and represent the symbol of elegance and refined taste. They first appeared at the end of the XNUMXth century, during the reign of King Louis XIV of France.
Since Coco Chanel began to apply the masculine look to feminine forms, and the line between masculine and feminine design became transparent and almost insensitive, such an accessory as lady's cufflinks appeared, effectively highlighting the beauty and tenderness of a woman's hands. Buttons for women are an exciting new trend that brings a lot of flair and personality to today's fashion world.
During the Ladies' buttons course in filigree technique, under the careful guidance of our filigree master, Nicoleta Stupca, a pair of cufflinks will be created, applying the watermark technique.
The subject of the course focuses on the creation of ladies' cufflinks only as a recommendation. But it is not mandatory, unisex, men's, women's or even children's cufflinks can be created. We usually have a few pre-set jewelry designs, but we encourage everyone who attends the classes to be creative. Only, in the end, the jewel belongs to you! Consult the instructor beforehand, he will guide you to which models you can apply at this level of the course, strictly using the prepared techniques.
Requirements
This course is recommended for those who have already worked with the watermark technique and to participate it is necessary to have a medium level of experience. The number of places is limited to 4 participants to give you the chance to get individual guidance.
* All materials are included in the cost of the course, plus a drink (tea, juice, coffee). 30% of the workshop price represents the guarantee of participation in our courses and is not refundable in case of cancellation.
About the Watermark technique
Appearing about 5.000 years ago, the term filigree comes from the Latin word "filum" which means "thread" and "granum" which means grain, and is a reference to the small beads used in this technique.
Watermark is a delicate embellishment in which fine, foldable strands of precious metal are twisted or wavy into a design and then glued onto (or into) jewelry. These patterns can take the form of gorgeous decorative ornaments, lace blooms, symmetrical Art-Deco patterns and other fascinating motifs. Watermark is used with all flexible metals and is not limited to expensive and precious metals.
Although the watermark has become a special branch of jewelry in modern times, in the past, it was part of the usual activity of a jeweler.

I attended the watermark technique course in March 2023. It was such a beautiful few days! I learned a lot, Mrs. Nicoleta Stupca is a very patient teacher and willing to share as much as possible. The technique is so tender and delicate. I recommend everyone to experiment, especially those who are patient and careful.
