The 39-year-old girl, red with green eyes, funny and not with all the tiles on the house, in a stable relationship with art, since 2012. This is how Raluca Anastasescu, the designer behind the Ruka brand, would describe herself as a joke.
Raluca has flirted with various jewelry techniques over time, but she believes that she discovered her true passion in 2014, at the first meeting with metal clay- within the courses organized by the Argila de Metal school. It was, as one would say, love at first sight, because Raluca found in silver all the qualities that he would have wanted to obtain from the raw material he works with: versatility, the possibility to give free rein to the imagination as not he had done it before and the chance to continuously learn new things.
In addition to the courses metal clay, Raluca also attended the classic jewelry courses taught at Artkimia Studio, then he got it European certification level 1 in the techniques of metal clay. Thus, what started as more of a hobby shyly turned into a business.
His favorite materials are silver, bronze, semiprecious stones and leather, but thanks to previous experience, in his works he incorporates others such as resin, glass, ceramics or cement.
From the beauty and complexity of nature, Celtic and Nordic folklore, the history of civilizations and culture, painting and even the rock music he listens to, his favorite books of Fantasy and mythology, his inner feelings and turmoil, past experiences, all are sources of inspiration. for the stories Ruka told.
She likes to believe that Ruka means more than just jewelry and that her pieces really reach the souls of those who wear them.

Silver earrings - Yggdrasil
The tree of life is perhaps one of the most famous symbols, with a strong meaning. Its representations appear since the Neolithic and there is no religion until today in which it is not found in one form or another. Probably everyone knows about him, so I won't add anything else. I chose 2 Diopside Chrome pebbles, for their intense green and because the meaning of this color goes hand in hand with that of the tree.

Silver pendant - Atropos
A pendant inspired by a mysterious butterfly, the subject of many legends and superstitions, Acherontia Atropos His name is associated with Atropos, one of the 3 Moirae (Cursed), guides of human destiny: Clothos, Lachesis and Atropos.
Clothos spun the bear's wheel and wove the web of destiny, Lachesis pulled from the string a thread representing the life of each and measured its length, and Atropos, the oldest of them, cut the thread of a man's life.

Silver pendant - Nautilus
With the idea of adventures and treasures hidden on the bottom of the water, I played with the shapes and colors of the dichroic glass cabos, and so I created the "Nautilus" pendant.
The silver oxidation process is very difficult to control, the chemical reactions can be amazing, and in this case the example speaks for itself. As if the song listened to my thoughts, I obtained absolutely gorgeous shades of green, blue and rust, which come to give it an air of authenticity, as if it had been lying on the ocean floor for hundreds of years.

Silver pendant - Undine
Symbols hide in a delicate pendant.
The pendant is called Undine, after the creatures described in the alchemical writings of Paracelsus. The nails were nifme associated with water, so I chose as a base for my pendant the triangle with the tip down - both a symbol of water in alchemical writings, but also a symbol of femininity (as well as the moon), intuition and subconscious.
I then used ivy, as a symbol of immortality, but also of fidelity and strong attachment, and male trinity (ivy leaves are like a triangle, this time oriented with the tip up).

From death, sacrifice, liberation, martyrdom to the representation of human instinctive forces, the knife plays an important place in many cultures.
In Hindu iconography, for example, it is attributed only to frightening deities, in whose hands it appears as a cruel weapon. In China, it was an emblem of the moon, and in some regions it was attributed the power to ward off evil influences (probably closely related to aspects of iron symbolism).

Silver Pendant - Still Bleeding
Part of the "Never love fails" collection, this three-dimensional heart-shaped pendant hides a cubic zirconia stone that has been "wrapped" in blood-colored resin.
The silver has been antiquated to give the pendant a rough look. Although it is 3D, the pendant has been designed to be relatively light.
